“You are here for a reason.”

Fear God

There is always a strain in our Christian lives between being the friend of God and also fearing God. We certainly can find deep intimacy with God, but must never take his commands and a relationship with Him lightly

Zephaniah 1:1-6 describes God’s mightyand powerful hand against those who turn from Him. He uses words such as “consume, cut off, and stretch out my hand against.” This action is toward those who worship other gods and “have turned back from following the Lord, and have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”

God will do whatever is necessary to draw his people back to Himself. Turning from God, no longer seeking after Him and forgetting Him in prayer are serious issues that God will deal with. They are not optional and just for those who want to be super Christians. To inquire of Him means to petition him in prayer. How many Christians today are experiencing God’s hand upon them because they have taken lightly the issue of prayer.

May this day be a day when we turn our hearts fully back to God, seek Him with all that is within you and humble ourselves to Him in prayer.
